Grind and Tamp
Grind
- The finer (smaller) the grind the longer your shot will take to pour.
- The courser (larger) the grind the faster the shot will take to pour.
Tamp
- The harder (more pressure applied) you tamp the longer the shot will take to pour.
- The lighter (less pressure applied) you tamp the faster your shot will take to pour.
Four factors that Contribute
There are four factors which contribute to an excellent cup of coffee. They are known as the four “M’s”
- Macinazione correct grinding of coffee.
- Miscela coffee blend.
- Macchina the espresso machine.
- Mano the hand of the Barista.
