Flavored coffees were originally introduced in the 1970’s when coffee prices rose and wholesalers were looking for ways to market coffees that were lower in quality. Since that time, much to the frustration of REAL coffee lovers, flavored coffee has bean gaining in popularity. Coffee flavorings are one of three types:
Natural flavors come from the actual item in nature that produces that flavor. For example, orange flavor comes from oranges.
Nature-identic flavors are produced artificially. But, they have the same chemical structures as those found in nature.
Theses flavors are artificially obtained. Although they may have similar taste to the real thing, their chemical construction is entirely different.
